The biggest myth about this guy is that he was some generation talent at Villa. The truth is most didn't even watch him full 90 minutes. Just a few seconds highlight reel and think he was English's Maradona.

And then he plays under Pep so it means he is a system player by default

He's always been a ball conductor and not a player that engages 1v1 aggressively. His instinct is to keep the ball, not to go past his man. The truth is he is just too limited technically. His touches are not silky/he can't touch the ball with his left foot to save his life, which makes him predictable with his only move to try and cut in (without the explosiveness that allows a Robben-type player to do that well). So he kind of takes 2-3 steps and cuts it back across the edge of the box

Mate he carried the ball the most distance in all the top five leagues one season and we barely survived relegation also created the second most chances too (even more than De Bruyne) and was the most fouled player.

We basically used to just give him the ball and try and get him to create something. He had licence to do it because we were basically a one team where he was the standout talent and without him we were shit.

We’d still be in the championship now without him.

He definitely isn’t a Doue or Kvaradona but the City Grealish is a completely different player who lacks the bravery he had. He did make a fool of Carvajal in the 4-0 City win though.

That's what I'm saying, he is a ball CARRIER, not someone who goes past people. Him being fouled is also a direct consequence of this playstyle. If you use your body to shield the ball, you get fouled.

I rate him as having a lot of talent, but he's not a great guy at all. He does things for kids fair enough, but he drunk drive during lockdown and clearly cheats on his girlfriend. Far from a good person. Drink drivers and adulterers will never ever be good people.

You think he's a good person because you like him personally as you like his looks. You are giving him 'pretty privilege' i.e. thinking he's a better person than he is cos you think he looks good (even tho I don't think he's handsome at all).
