Jack Rodwell

True, he may have stayed at Everton too long and should have left to United, but be's still young and has a large potential ceiling. Like I said, he's much better then the likes of Parker and Barry already.

Rodwell is one of the few English players with a touch and close control that is close to that of Spanish players. He's not just an athlete.

Rodwell, Cleverly and Wilshere are Englands future and best shot at making it past the quarter finals at a major tournament.

as for Rooney, he can finish, but his control and touch range from an abysmal amateur to world class. unfortunately for him it is more often the former in the last couple of years.

Gerrard is WORLD CLASS don't pay attention to anyone that says otherwise. He has been injured for the last 3 years and been unable to regain his best form. Liverpool finishing Top 4 depends on completely on his fitness.

Gerrard's not world class. He's old and shit. England only have 3 WC players now.. GK, LB and striker. FACT.

I'm just too honest...............

He's not even won the PL. This 'world class' player is too good.
its about the player himself not the team, what he can do alone miracles to win premier leauge from what i save in my memory the last years of liverpool is the CL finals that are won and lost they didnt do shit in premier leauge the year they won it in 2005 and one player cant carry all the team

Rodwell does not have good close control or first touch. What antasy world are you guys living in? He's big, strong and quick, with a good strike on him. He's of the same ilk as Henderson, not Cleverley and certainly not Wilshere.

Hahahaha, like Cleverly Zidane is anything special, besides the name of course. I bet if Rodwell can stay injury free in few years he will be considered better than him

Rodwell does have good close control and first touch. At least much better than your standard English player. I really don't understand why you are claiming otherwise.

just look at some of his dribbling with the ball and still tell me he doesn't have good close control and first touch. If not as good as or similar to a Spanish player, it is certainly better than your standard English player.

Anyway we'll see what he does this season.

I'm claiming he doesn't have a great touch because he doesn't. What that video doesn't show, is all the times he gets the ball stuck under his feet or all the times he gets caught in possession. I actually watched those U21 games live, he's more of the same, hurried in possession, just with a tad more technique to get him out of a situation than your average English player does. It'll be enough against your bog-standard Premier League team, but at international level or in Europe? No chance. The only team I care about is England, and I wouldn't want Rodwell anywhere near a first team squad.

so he gets the ball stuck under his feet very often and caught in possession very often?

I disagree with you. He's better than you give him credit for. He does have good control and a good first touch. Certainly better than current England regulars we see.

you say you don't want him anywhere near the England first team squad? you say that like England are 3rd best team in the world. He would be an improvement on the England 1st team IMHO, because quite frankly England NT are crap and could do with more technically gifted players like him, cleverly and wilshere.

No, I'm saying it like we're crap, and he still wouldn't be an improvement on what we have, which is saying something. He's not a better DM than Parker, let alone Carrick.
