Plus Danilo is out. Though, that might be more good than bad, tbh. Anyway, can Asspanyol do something good for once?
Nope Espanyol are cowards when it comes to Real as they would rather bend over for them rather than let us have a chance to win the League.

Fuck, 4 weeks out. Another injury-ridden season coming. Got me thinking, players get injuried time and time again, how come Messi/Ronaldo can go years without injuries? What makes them so different, they certainly get no less abuse than anyone else.

Either steroids or just a combination of things, in Messi's case its resting in games, avoiding tackles, better diet and not being an injury prone player. Ronaldo is just a freak of nature, you would figure he gets muscle injuries a lot but he basically never does and goes 10+km 50+ games a year at 100% stamina at every minute of every game never tired or injured.

The you have guys like Robben who are injured constantly, who knows how good he would have been had he been like Messi and Ronaldo.
You need some luck as wel of course.

Tbf, Ronaldo does a fair bit of resting as well, even if he runs more overall than Messi. But yes, Ronaldo is a freak.

Well it's kinda known that pretty much every single football player(other sports too) takes some kind of drugs to improve their performance, body and help them stay healthy. I used to train football and my coach told me the same team. He was playing somewhere(amateur pretty much) and they gave them some kind of pills, they could go faster and for a longer time. Nothing suprising really.

True, I like to believe everyone is clean but its extremely naïve.
Remember how Messi was dead tired in March, went to his doctor in Italy and was beasting it up all trough april.
I guess they are all at the juice, not to be more talented or anything but to help them go 100% all off the time.

the amount of testing in football these days means it will be very difficult to get away with much at all

They said the same thing about boxing with Floyd cleaning up the sport but now turned out to be another Lance Armstrong.
Remember what fuentes said? "if I talk Spain gets stripped of the world cup"...

He is an athlete who can meet the best doctor that doesn't mean he had it. and fuentes. who's that, an medical expert? You are underestimating the medical testing techniques today.

Mayweather isn't another Lance Armstrong, where do you get this from ? If you are talking about the drip he used, the problem is that he didn't get the full permission to use it. As for Fuentes, very little of what he said or didn't say is relevant to anything. He was largely attention seeking.

If Fuentes had any evidence, records of who, what, and when then he would have spilled it already to save his ass.

He didn't.

Yeah he had those Iv's plugged in cause he was weight drained? a man that walks at 150 3 months before the fight suddenly struggles to make weight.
Only logical answer is peds and having usada in his pocket.
And Fuentes wasnt attention seeking, he was the doping doctor for the cycling world and also Nadal's personal doping supplier.
Look at him before and after Fuentes got caught

Then we get to football, remember this document of where the stuff was supposed to go.

Look at the names on top.
Milan
R.soc
Alfredo

Which club comes to mind instantly when you read that name?

All in all doping has been around football for decades, hell Juventus won a cl with it.
Is very naïve to think its suddenly all gone and everyone is clean while in this era they are stronger, faster, have better endurance and the whole game is getting more physical.
More likely they get smarter in ways to avoid getting caught.

You are naive, while drug testing, methods and technology has improved to help discover the cheaters, so has the methods to hid drug use. The one leads to the other.

Ofc, drugs are more evident in purely physical sports, football is alot more than that. But still, the benefits of "miracle medicines" would also help players keep in shape, even if it dont improve their football skills. Im suprised that football is such a clean sport(until proven otherwise), cycling has big scandals every year.
