How much are Leicester getting?

Of all their stars from last season, I thought this guy would be the last one to leave. I mean with them backing him even during his alcohol abuse and stuff!

He is the oldest between their stars. It is sort of now or never for him.

OMG £20 million is dirt freaking cheap for English clubs! Wenger, that sneaky rat

Despite him not having much career ahead I would still have expected him to be thankful for the help Leicester shown him? I mean he turned up high for training in his earlier days for crying out loud

But considering football being more of a business now, it is probably not very wrong to not be faithful but he could have at least chosen a better club? Choosing that manager with a loser mentality after being part of that glorious season which involved bulldozing past the very same team, it's just stupid!

How many people here would seriously sacrifice better job prospects for the sake of their club potentially doing that little bit better? I doubt many would if it really came down to it. I don't think it's any more reasonable to expect it of footballers. This is his career we're talking about, which in football are short enough as it is. Given where he's come from I don't have a problem with him trying to reach as far as he can. That said, I don't expect Arsenal to do anything of note this season, and I honestly wouldn't be surprised if this was the year that they finished outside the top four, so I would question whether it's really that much of a step up to be honest. I don't agree that he'll struggle for space at Arsenal though, he has good movement inside the box, he's not just a kick and rush footballer.

Exactly why the move seems all the more stupid! He should have at least waited for a call from a Mourinho or PSG or something!!

Suprised that he is leaving, didnt think the bigger clubs would be interested in a 29 year old striker with only one good season in his career. Chances of a one season wonder are quite high. A gamble by Wenger to solve their striker problem with this one.

20m is not even a big gamble.

It is pocket change to the Premier League clubs and worth the risk for a couple of seasons.

Even as a sub or another option it is worth the risk. They most likely get that 20m back in a years time if he flops anyway.

I just didnt think Vardy would be the one leaving, given the circumstances. Kante and Mahrez should be much better prospects for the big clubs than Vardy.

Its not only about the money, Wenger is gambling away the entire season if Vardy doesnt deliver. Giroud is simply not good enough if Arsenal have higher ambitions than a top 4(do they?).

£20m is a good return on a 29 year old player for Leicester City. I doubt they're gutted about the transfer even if some of the fans might be. Plus, the business has been done early which means they've got time to replace him.

Hey guys don't forget we spent that 20m on fucking Mathieu and Vermaelen and they're older than Jamie, so we're in no position to talk ...
