Javi Martínez

Not a first choice CB, but as someone who can play there realistically, unlike Song who was ostensibly signed as an option for both positions. :zubi:

A great Busquets alternative.

I'd take him as a starter in a double pivot role with Busi and Don with Xavi slowly fading out I saw him playing good balls from deep aswell and Busi can handle Xavi's responsibilities without being blinded by Song's swag

We would have signed him in 2012 were it not for his prohibitive price. He would still be about 30 mill I would imagine, but sometimes you get what you pay for.

I don't see a reason why we can't just get him and another CB. Him and Laporte would be the perfect duo for our defense. Laporte could fill in for Pique and Bartra at CB. Martinez featuring regularly either next to or for Busquets and as an emergency CB if we need him to be. Pique-Laporte and Bartra-Laporte, either of those would be very solid.

Nah, they won't just sell Javi. They bought him for 40M and won treble with him. They just can't sell him right away after 2 seasons.

Don't want...Our biggest issue in midfield is mobility and you can see that Javi doesn't provide that and he's not good enough for us in central defense...If we were going to spend that kind of money on a midfielder, much prefer Koke or Kroos

His lack of pace was frequently exposed by Welbeck at Old Trafford. I hope we don't get him.

Since when did we become pacewhores?

I like some variation please. Every successful team has that quality. Imagine him and Pique at the back against quick attackers. It would get messy.
