Small balls Laporta was too afraid taking this decision when it did matter, now he lost both the money and ruined half a season which means loosing even more money.

zero vision, this man is turning into a clown.

The right time for the sacking was after Atletico defeat IMO... Yes, he waited too long.

Not like we would beat Real or Benfica, but we would get much more points against smaller teams.

One of the worst to decision to fire him mid season.

Could have just fired him at the start of the season if Laporta was going to spend the rumoured 12M anyway and actually give Xavi a full season or let him go at the end of the season and bring in a WC manager , instead he opted to go for the worst of both scenarios.

He hesitated in May/June when Koeman should've been axed due to the extortionate termination clauses that he had to cough up anyway months later - meanwhile, he has looked weak/indecisive while sporting wise the club's restart for his mandate has suffered that may impact current squad as well as future targets in the market

Very lamentable. There is cause to celebrate to be sure as we are rid of that cancer but at the same time, much work to do to repair damage on top of existing damage - the true restart begins now

Laporta was patient and also adviced by Jordi Cruyff to wait for results after injured players return. That never happened, instead we get more and more injuries.

Wonder if there are people around Laporta who can tell him with a straight face full of conviction that a loss to Numancia could be the best game in years...

Quit your whining. Its a day for celebration.

God rid of Konman, now he is getting rid of the 4 captains. Big ballz Laporta is finally back.

He'd better do that asap but they already survived way too much for me to believe they will be gone anytime soon.

Our squad won't even the Europa League if you were to appoint Pep and Klopp.

You missed the point. Considering the results this squad has to do better, and its always the right time to sack someone if theoretically you have still the chance to win something that season.
Di matteo comes to mind also, he was interim manager after villas boas in march.
They knocked out prime barcelona in sf.

the right time was in the summer, if Laporta had any plan or any vision at all.

He just needed to take a look at Koeman 21+ years career.

But he wanted to surf on that " Bartomeu brought him here not me" for the longest time possible, before starting to take blame for any bad appointment.

Great chat between FabRomano and Juan Marti, Sam Marsden

Few highlights:
- Laporta decided to fire Koeman on the spot, when on the plane after a short char with Yuste.
He, then, went to Koeman's seat and informed him, who in turn went to inform his assistants
Crazy incident

- Laporta does not think Xavi is ready.
His plan this season was to keep Koeman until the summer, and then hire a WC coach.
The fact that things were deteriorating with Koeman made him change his mind, but the only available at the moment was the not-ready Xavi

-Juan Marti confirms what some of us have been saying here:
Xavi wants to play exactly how Pep played in 2011, a carbon-copy 10 years later with question marks about whether he realizes the developments in football these years
