If we win the case at CSS then it's over for La Liga. The bias would be evident, and things will improve. La Liga was aiming for a tough but fair stance in the public eye. If they lose this already shaky credibility by being exposed as biased... they don't have a leg to stand on.

There are no heroes and villains here. Laporta is no saint by any measure. He is no stranger to nepotism and corruption. Hides the truth at times too, to put it mildly. Quite a few shocking sporting decisions as well that didn't help club's stability.

Olmo should have never been in question either. We are the only club in the world celebrating our player getting registered.

Having said all that, sadly, there aren't better candidates available. From what I've seen they are mostly clowns.

The VIP seats deal sounds a lot better now.
What Elena Fort said, Laporta just confirmed. First of all, the club didn't sell the seats. It sold the rights of commercialisation of these seats. Meaning Barca will keep getting the normal price for these seats, but the investor will have the right to sell them for a different price and keep the profit.
Second of all, we're talking here about 500 from over 9500 seats. And as a result, the club got €100m.

In hindsight I say it's even a really good deal in the end. The club keeps getting the money in addition to the €100m, the risk or reward is for the investor to work out. As always, it's better to wait for the full details.

"They want to knock the club at a key moment in our history, with a young team that's going to bring a lot of joy to the club."

'But they will have to work a lot harder to bury us". 💪

Strength no weakness.

I said in the Olmo thread it's only a matter of time before Tebas gets a black eye from his draconian leadership.

His biases aka us not accepting the CVC deal has drove him mad that it was only a matter of time before he slipped up anyway.

What's the joke behind that spelling of Tebas?

In the early and mid 2000s boxing promoter Frank Warren used to sue forum members of boxing forums if they said anything bad against him- even if it was true.

It got to the stage that if you typed in his name, the forum autocorrected his name to Allegedly, which was pretty funny if you didn't know.

Thebes is my little in-joke on that with him being a lawyer, even if he is a bad one at that.

...but mainly, if you translate an article with his name from Spanish to English, it comes out as Thebes. So I stuck with it.

Madrid? I won't tell you details from personal conversations with other presidents. I can say that I am grateful to the clubs that did not object. They clearly saw that this was the wrong approach.
Our rivalry on the pitch may be very big, but off it we have to defend the interests of our clubs. There are many teams that have not taken a stand and I am grateful to them. They all have legal departments that know what we are talking about and who know that we are working within the law. They all know that we have every chance of succeeding in this process
We are grateful to those who believed in us. I encourage you to continue believing because great moments and many successes are ahead.

@Windhook

Officially partners with Madrid now.
I support it until the SuperLeague project wins over the corrupted UEFA bureaucracy and the Oil State clubs

Then, we can become enemies off the pitch again

Laporta:
“If we had signed with Nike in the summer, we wouldn’t have received more than the €300M that we successfully improved upon during this period.”
“We prepared the documentation on December 27 and submitted it before the end of the year. La Liga then requested additional documents. At Barça, we have always complied with the regulations."
Laporta: “The new contract with Nike is 𝟑𝐱 more of value than the previous one.”
Laporta: "The rules don't specify that we must demonstrate having received the money. We presented the money we received from one of the companies, while for the other, we waited until 3rd January, even though the operation was completed before 1st January.”
Laporta: "We have completed Barça's financial recovery. We did it without improvisation, without luck, and without any external help. We are a club with many values, principles, and ethics. Barça is more than just a club."
