Picked the wrong guy in Xavi. That much is obvious. Almost kept him too. Only because Xavi couldn't control his whining we are now enjoying Flick.

And yes he is responsible if works are delayed/late and signing isn't registered.

He didn't want him, but every decent coach rejected us due to our financial hell hole and history of humiliation in Europe.
And Xavi has done great part in rebuilding the squad, the trio of him, Crujif and Alemany selected the right players for this club.

Another case in point: Spains evolution with the emergence of Yamal. A very mediocre coach suddenly has his national team playing the best football bar Argentina.

That said, I rate Flick - he's far from mediocre. Probably the best coach we had since Pep/Enrique. He's awesome. But Flick last year woudln't have had the tools to play the football we see now. That's also pretty obvious.

We saw what Flick did without Yamal
1 win in 8 league games.

Everybody knows who the daddy of this team is

It's lamine yamal

You can hate but history will be kind to Xavi's work. Going from 9th place to Champions while giving chances to the next generation. Flick took us to another level but that wouldn't be possible without Xavi's work.

Hope he gets some work this summer and gets more experience before coming back home one day.
I agree, Xavi although he was not world class, he was still pretty decent for Barcelona and saving them from the slums of 9th place. Won the league in his first season and yes most of the time the football wasn’t pretty but we still progressed as a football club slowly but surely. I still believe he’ll manage another club and fix his tactics, and he’ll come back home one day.

Obviously when there is no backup right winger and he has to play likes of Fermin on LW when Lamine is absent, often ends in absolute failure because those are not wingers and have nothing to do with that role. Lack of depth is not Flick's fault.

Are you trying to argue that lamine is not flick's father?

Wasn’t his first choice, that is indisputable - I mean how could anyone forget the Xavi, Xavi, Xavi meme by Laporta to Font who kept touting him as his own

I recall the narrative that Joan saw him more as a prospect with potential, perhaps not ready in a way Pep did back in the day

I do recall Flick in the conversation and he was someone I liked. Even I was more a proponent of Xavi to be coach than Laporta

Xavi was a good option. Rebuilt the squad from a poor situatio and even won a big title in 2 seasons in charge.

Sure man. I want some of that weed too. :stoner:

Basically same situation Flick had.

Only now Barca plays football again.

You must have enjoyed that voodo defense and average points style.
