He has good technique but is essentially just not that good a player. He is one of those players who is hyped to the moon as a young player then flatters to deceive until he retires.

There is almost no chance he fulfills his potential because of his complacent mentality, but if he wants to give himself the best chance, he needs to find a team that will play him in the 10 role. The role he made his name in at Benfica.
