Absolutely not, he let Arda waltz through in the very first minute which very likely could've ended up in a goal and Turan also had the beating of him every time throughout the game. He kept the Atleti forwards carelessly onside on a couple of occasions and was lucky that the linesman made the wrong decision in those situations.

And I don't have to say much about the height disadvantage.

He constantly shut out Costa and was very effective in linkup. Turan was easily MOTM, he dribbled past pretty much everyone he faced so it's not like Alba alone was leaking him through. At least he defended actively and put in effort. No one expects him to actually be that stable of a defender that he never gets beaten or makes errors, just that he runs and presses hard so that the space is at least covered.

Agree on Alba, I thought he played very well...Particularly against Costa, which, tbh, surprised me...As I mentioned in the match thread, Turan was great but I felt Luis' impact was larger, but both were terrific

he defended outstanding against costa, won a lot of air duells, which is sensational considerung the height difference between them. so besides that one dribbling by turan, he was a wall!!!
