It doesn't help our Backup LB options are.
Mathieu who's gotten older and really can't play the LB role anymore like he could in the past and now he's out for the season with a Knee Injury.
Adriano who's gotten old and injury prone and can't be relied on anymore.
Roberto who's a right footed CM.
It's really annoying we haven't bothered to get a proper LB backup that can seriously challenge Alba for the spot. When Alba gets in the final third he's useless he makes a bad pass or a terrible cross and his finishing isn't good.
He's so hot headed even with the littlest touch he completely loses his shit and starts arguing with people. And it's even worse when he loses the ball up the field and the other team starts a counter he just stands there waving his hand to the ref complaining he was fouled leaving Masche and Pique exposed.
He maybe a key player for us but fucking hell his Problems and his poor form just anger me.

Forget signing a backup LB. Alba should be our backup LB when we sign a real one.

maybe try Vermaelen there? Has played there on occasion for Belgium NT

Well Vermaelen stated before the game vs Portugal several days ago he wasn't comfortable playing at LB.

Lol! Yes he was awful tonight, he and Alves was really 'Dumb and Dumber' - but some of the reactions on here are just hilarious. Alba has been one of our most consistent players together with Pique, Masche, Busi and Messi - and some of you say he's inconsistent and sucks, please get a grip.

i'm with you about not piling on alba for a poor performance. happens. but your bias is so damn clear in this post its funny how the rest of it plays out.
He can't dribble to save his life. And if a winger beats him for pace, he's done for.
Needs to integrate more aspects to his game. He cant be only pace and passing.
Dribbling, positioning, vision , flair are equally important

This .our style of play needs our CM par to do a lot of covering and support for the FBs .Iniesta (and later Arda) didn't do that.
Eh,Classico is important game always .but this time we had the luxury that it was a game to spare tbh .we are still in full control in Liga race .as long as he doesn't fuck us up in CL or against Sevilla it isn't really the worst time
