I don't like his whiny personality either, but it is evident that he is very important for the team's attacking game and everytime he is not playing the team lacks something. Of course he is not perfect and has his fuck-ups, but who got none? Even Alves, the prototype of a Barca-fullback, had his defensive fuck-ups. And no, I don't think he is on that prototype-level, but like Barcaman said, he has probably been the best LB in Barca-history.

He needs to be replaced sooner or later, ideally we got someone who gives him more competition for the starting spot than Firpo. Replacing him is not one of the priorities in the team though.

What I really hold against him is that he lacks discipline. Every time he doesn't agree with the referee/things don't go his way or whenever Barca is losing he loses his mind. Now that he is already 31, he'll never learn it. 9 yellow cards in 26 games speak volumes.

Yes, the hate he gets, is undeserved. He is still one of the best performing players in the squad. We need a solid back up, but he is still top 5 performing players in the squad together with ter Stegen, Frenkie, messi, arajuo and griezmann/pedri

Sell him and get us some Firpo level, and let Messi go in the summer.

Playing Europa league is fun as i heard.

Yeah yeah, Europa league. We are in second place despite half a squad injured and depressed Messi for first half of the season and playing on back foot, while Atleti having a run of the century. That said, despite his flaws, no need to get rid of Alba yet. He's the last thing we should be worried about for now.

I have a love-hate relationship with Alba. The LB market is very scarce and Alba is still one of the best in the world in his position notwithstanding his age, limitations and on-field shenanigans. He is the last player from the "Amigo club" who needs replacing. Ideally, if Alba's athleticism doesn't decline, I would keep him even if we signed Gaya so that we could have some real depth at LB.
