Honestly, I can't blame Alba for such game.
He was out of the game from the start, clearly out matched and they clearly targeted him in their game plan.
That was obvious 5 minutes into the game, and we kept him in same situation for 120 minutes, with only change is subbing in Dest as LW (SMH)
It is on the guy sitting on the bench to solve that situation

Of course he was exposed against a younger Williams (we were quite lucky that Inaki started on the bench or would be even more exposed having to deal with both Williams brothers speed for a whole game). Abde didn't do much to help him before subbed off.

This is why I think having Dembele in the team would help us. Sure he's better on the right but if played as a LW at least Nico Williams would have something to worry about defensively. And also not that Dembele is great defensively but he could at least keep up with Nico's speed which no other player in current team can. Araujo tried but was also caught off a few times.

So Xavi should've done more to prevent Alba being exposed but he still had a shit game mostly based on his shortcomings that are known for years. And if he was really injured then just sub him off FFS. The same with Pique. Yeah, our options are limited and Dest/Balde and Lenglet probably wouldn't do much better but at least change something.
