Can imagine it's the same sort of deal as for Umtiti. A wage for 2 seasons spread out over 3, with the possibility of us buying it out after 1-2 years.

Have to think the club or Xavi for that matter wanted Alonso but also seen how good Balde's been doing so far and with Alba's age and declining performances and high wages I assume they made the choice to bet on both Alonso and Balde and tried to shove him out the door but to no success.

But if Alonso and Balde do go the season doing well enough it makes it easier to push Alba out.

Even better, it's just the one year deal, just like with Bellerin. We're going BIG on the full backs next summer!
