Jordi Mboula

I've always thought Mboula is sometimes spectacular, but overall inconsistent so far. He has potential, but far from a sure bet. If he wants to leave, good riddance.

Inconsistency is expected from young players but overall I agree. If he wants to leave and Monaco is offering him first team minutes (if he'll really get them is another question) we can't do much about that. Valverde could possibly call him up for preseason games but there is no way we should just guarantee him first team spot, let alone regular playing time there. It would also send wrong message to our other youngsters. I'm all for giving them a chance in first team but they should first deserve that opportunity by playing regularly on high level in Barça B as we can't just promote any kid that will threat to leave the club if he won't get promoted. Yes, we'll probably lose some talented players that way but we'll keep the ones that really wants to succeed at Barça.

You have absolutely no idea the level of coaching he has been getting.

More likely he will go for money and quicker route to first team football in my opinion.

I know by the players we are producing, the level of coaching out players are getting once they hit Juve B. Players have been stalling more than usual and if you watch Juve A. You will notice the lack of tactical aptitude. They seem to stop playing the Barca way all the up to Barca B. We end up with players who should be promoted, but are seriously lack in key areas. Like Samper a great distributing DM that can't defend or Adama a powerful winger who can't pass and lacks even basic tactical awareness.
This is the coaching that should be done when the competition gets harder, usually happens when players get to Juve B. Mboula should go to a team that has proved to develop young players with great success like Monaco.

Those player will be getting coached just fine and anything they lack is most likely down to them.

Mboula been coached enough to this point that you think he is ready for Monaco first team.

The issue is more that any good young player at Barca these days folk expect to see them all the way through to first team. Which is unrealistic.

Wish him the best. Even if it's not for us it'd be nice to see a La Masia forward be a success. The only one so far is Sandro really and he hasn't made that step up to a top team just yet and won't be able to until January.

He signed a five year deal with Monaco, and as predicted we don't have a buyback option.

I was kind of thinking on a grander scale, like become a CL caliber forward. If Monaco really does make Mboula a starter he'd be the first forward to really reach that level.

Granted, it'll probably mean our board forces a transfer saga to bring him back one day whether we need him or not when that day comes, so maybe I shouldn't hope for that
