If we get a young goalkeeper like ter Stegen it would be important to have a good mentor for him who could also jump in for a while if things don't go well for the youngstar. I am not convinced Pinto qualifies for that job. Being Messi's personal entertainer and tutoring a youngstar from a different culture isn't the same and Pinto appears to be too much of a clown. Nevermind that I wouldn't feel save at all if 39 year old Pinto had to suddenly jump in in the CL knockout rounds (unless he jumps in during a penalty shootout ).
I know people are against Reina because it doesn't feel like "something new". More like getting back a washed up ex La Masia graduate. But he is in his prime years, knows the system and language, knows our players, would be extremely motivated back at Barca, has a great character, would bring PL and Serie A experience and he's actually doing well at Udinese this year (second best defensive record after Roma). I would definitely get him, especially for only 5 million Euros in 2 installments.
