If he leaves, I think Madrid will go downhill very quickly

No, Madrid now has a team that's been playing together for much longer and it'll be an easier job for the next coach to assemble a winning team but he has a tough job to fix the damaged mentality that Mou leaves behind. With less pressure and stress that Mou has injected into the players and using good motivational technics he can get on but it will take some time. Madrid is different from every other team that Mou has ever managed, They will not plummet like Chelsea or Inter. the name and history of the club alone is enough to create confidence in the players against all the other teams in the league except Barca, and when they feel confident they win. In CL Mou helped them break the mental block they had so the road will not be bumpy there either. But you can't deny that in the end of the day Mou did more damage to Madrid than good.

I'm not sure about that man. He's assembled good squad, at least didn't fuck up the alredy well established one. They are all young and he got them all used to a system. If & when they do break Braca's run, they'll get huge confidence too. So I don't know how he did more damage

Reputation though, he's spoiled it all

Agree + the fact is the average age is a lot less than his Chelsea and Inter..which promise stability

When Mourinho leaves, all the prima donnas in the capital club will lower their work rates to a minimum. Ronaldo, Di Maria, Benzema. You name 'em. Especially if it's after a winning season. Özil got complacent after a good debut season for Madrid. Imagine him winning La Liga and / or the CL. He'll probably retire. This RM team doesn't have the humility to stay on top. Hell, it's even hard for Mourinho to get them there. It took him only 10 Clasicos to make Ronaldo track back in an El Clasico. Only someone like del Bosque could handle that bunch of egos. Or Mourinho. Who has the biggest ego of them all.

Agreed about Ozil and Cristiano, not so much about Di Maria and Benzema..Di Maria gave his all from day one at RM and with Benzema was more of a confidence issue(some players have problems addapting at a big club..but he always played very good for France).
As of Mouriarty, I believe that if RM wins the league and CL and City doesn't win the EPL, he will leave. And then Low would be a good fit(although he probably wants to win the WC with Germany after all the works he has done for his NT). And I really like the coach of RM Castillia, who is more of a Pep than a Mou. In a year he has done wonders for that team and especially for difficult players like Jese.
