Yea I think Paulinho transfer was just too much. Thing is, if he was 27 no one would have said a word and JamDev argument would make some sense. Considering he will turn 30 next year and the fact that we are paying Chinese 40m for him, when they bought him for 14m (even Levy was surprised), reeks of corruption.

The last thing Barto needs is more investigations going on. Now he's threatening to sue anyone who implies he is doing more corrupt things.

While Rosell is rotting in jail, it's not out of the realm to believe that Barto is scared that he will be soon be joining his former boss.

He is nearer 28 by a long way and not 'on verge of 30'.

What will they do with the 40m they get for him?

Take it out and not replace him if it is a under hand deal to make money. When money is one thing they are not short of.

Doesn't make sense for them at all if the deal is to pocket money for other business deals.
He is nearer 30 then he is turning 28.

They dont have to do anything. They literally brought the guy for 14m, used him for 3 years to win loada of titles, then chance came of selling him for 40 fucking million. He is only gonna get worse, and there wont be another chance to make 26m on him. They got his best years, won loads of titles and now will sell him 3 years later for 3x his worth (when he was 26). He is not Messi or Neymar, he is Paulinho. While big part of their success, he is still just average ankle breaker.

Its rational bussines 101 something Barca fans are not used to. Its like selling Rakitic for 50m now. Everyone in Barca would take it (difference being Rakitic is not PL reject but CL proven)

Of course threatens to sue when things like that are said and folk believe it
when in reality it doesn't make sense.

If this deal is corrupt it isn't in the way that obviously false rumour makes out.

Chinese don't gain from it.

The Chinese gain a massive profit for the player they sold plus a potential international business partner that will help them expand operations and profit significantly.

All that from a 14 million euro investment they made three years ago.

Think about how much sense that makes from a investment perspective.

They dont profit if they spend more than 20m on a replacement foreign player who is likely to be poorer than Paulinho.

They dont need Paulinho to make any partnership with Bartos business. If so profitable for both then Paulinho is irrelevant.

Supposedly the Chines are the ones taking a back hander. They dont need that to choose who to work with and probably lose money not gain any.

They didnt sign replacement for 20m neither does signing one make this any less likely to be corruption issue. In year or two they would need to look for replacement anyway, except in this case they would have no one to sell him to. Surely not for 40m as they have had in this case.

So naive! The trend in China is not to rely on foreign players. New government policies pushing Chinese clubs to spend more on local talents and development. Paulinho 40m is a record deal for Chinese Super League and no clubs will be spending big anymore to bring foreign players. Chinese clubs owned mostly by private investors who have no interest in football besides pleasing the government to win favorable contracts. So if the government is pushing for this new direction, then they will start selling those expensive foreign players.

So you are telling me that selling Paulinho and profiting nearly 30m on what they sold them for and establishing a business partnership that would potentially allow both Adelte and the Evergrande group to expand business operations and establish new projects which both parties would profit tremendously is all going to be hindered by the fact that they might not profit if they invest 20m or more on a new player?

I think you might need to look at the bigger picture here.

Of course they have come out and said that.

It is a challenge to anyone to put up is shut up in relation to that story.

As said yesterday it doesn't even make sense from Chinese side who it is likely just lose their best player and spend money to replace him with inferior one.

Thanks for teaching me the difference between ilk and elk. Allow me to return the favor this one time, one non-native to native speaker.

Well articulated post, I agree. Hopefully the President defends the club against those leeches.

I'm loving this btw.

First they come out to deny the conspiracy surrounding the Paulinho transfer and now they come out to dismiss the #BartomeuDimiteYa trend.

Social media has done wonders over the past week to expose these cronies.

It must be terrifying to them that the new generation of Socis are going to be so technologically inclined.

Yea and when half of tickets you sell is sold to tourist.

True, I'm sure that us inferior foreign fans make the club a lot more money than those living in Spain. If we're so insignificant they should stop hosting pre-season friendlies in other countries, ban shirt/merchandise sales out of Catalonia and prevent non-socios from being able to purchase tickets. The club would shut down and file for bankruptcy in a year tops.
