The overhaul should start with amigos being brought into office and told....
Pique - your minutes will be reduced and ou will be rotated more next season. If unhappy the club respects this and will allow you to leave.
Busi - you will be back up next season. If wish to move on club will facilitate that.
Alba - club are looking for a starting LB. Can stay and fight for place or club will facilitate moving on.
Rakitic - you can leave but not for free. If refuse to go be aware will not play for Barca next season.
Vidal - free to leave if suitable offer comes in. Will have reduced minutes next season.
Suarez - you will be back up next season and club do not envisage enough minutes to extend contract. Club will facilitate leaving for free this summer if wish.
Messi - this is what we have told the other senior players and they will all be on reduced minutes or in back up roles. The choice is yours to stay with younger team and try to go a different direction or if wish to leave the club will respect that and facilitate it.

Great post. This is what we have to do. No other way out. As long as we have these players running the show we will keep struggling. This team is finished on top level.

True. When players become lazy you have to change, just like when Pep started with Barca. He saw the guy who got lazy and got rid of them. It was something we had to do to move on.

Yep. You can tell when someone's lying or not being completly honest and that's when they're excessive in their praise for a rival.
Have you seen Pep and Klopp's comments about Mourinho recently? Both have praised Mourinho for being a winner and claimed Tottenham will be up there among the contenders for next season's title.

Even if he want to overhaul the squad having the dynamic duo of Barto and Abidal will probably make it worse.

So, basically, if the coach wants to do something and the veterans don't agree, things don't get done..
This is exactly what happened since Setien came. The managers came with their ideas (good or bad, it doesn't even matter), veterans didn't like it, kicked up a fuss, then the board called the manager to defuse the situation. The managers accepted the compromise, since they're not exactly swimming in offers. Same as Valverde case really, except Valverde was way more submissive and obedient.
What does "defuse the situation" mean? Messagge of the meeting is don't go against the veterans.
Meaning of this? The veterans effectively run the team.
