Totally agree.

It would be ridiculous.

Wouldn't mind it. Koeman would be fine, Poch ideal, but with elections in less than a year and this team likely going nowhere next season a caretaker like Pimienta whom would be aware he only has one year as manager wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. This is going to be a transition season.

Pimienta has never managed above 3rd tier and never managed older pro players with egos etc.

Barca need a strong character with authority.

Not a big fan of Koeman but him every day over likes of Pimienta.

If this ends up with Pimienta and amigos then club is well and truly fucked and not going anywhere soon.

I can see Pimi leading the team with the Amigos forced out now. Basically taking over and doing the best he can with what he has. No money invested until new manager comes in.

But of course this relies on the club being able to get rid of the bigger players.

Exactly! If they choose Pimienta I am done with this joke of a club. In that case I wouldn't be surprised if Messi decides to leave.

The hope is that the new board comes in, is able to hire their man as manager without any expectation or pressure to keep the existing coach and starts a mass clear out next summer. With most, if not all the amigos likely staying I don't see any manager able to squeeze much out of next season. I would prefer Koeman as well, but don't think we can sink much lower by appointing Pimienta. Also advantage with him is that he would know that this arrangement is temporary until the new board takes over.

Barca can not afford to throw the next season out of the window. In this way they would surrender before La Liga even started. That's just unacceptable! Rebuilding needs to start NOW and Pimienta is a joke and not a proper candidate. He would be even worse than Setien who was way worse than Valverde.

Some of you guys need to understand that the next board won't have a magic stick. First, we don't know if they will be any better then Barto and secondly they will need time. If we loose another year by doing absolutely nothing things will get even uglier! So I hope they will opt for Pochettino or Koeman and not another clown.

Any coach coming in would have to know the arrangement could be temporary.

Pimentia for me would be awful choice and more of the same decisions that are hurting the club and not addressing any issues.

Ideally, yes. But we have no money to bring in reinforcements, are stuck with most of the seniors for now and there is much uncertainty in the air with a new regime taking over in a few months. Pimienta would be down my list of choices as well, but a throwaway coach for a likely throwaway season wouldn't bother me all that much.

Best case scenario for this summer would be Suarez + Rakitic + Vidal leaving and a bigger name like Koeman hired who has it in him to make some tough decisions like benching Busi. That would set us up nicely. Not going to count on any of that though.

Whoever comes in now will only be guaranteed a 1 year contract + additional years depending on what the new board decide.

Koeman probably will be the best choice a the next president Font/Laporta will more likely to be open to him staying once the new board is in place.

Poch would likely only be given 1 year as I could see the next president wanting to remove him as soon as he got into office because of his history of having despising Barca. Font would never accept Poch as a manager, seeing as Xavi is his main candidate for manager and Poch has publicly talked shit about Xavi.

Given that taking the job is currently a poisoned chalice with many issues and that major elections are due to happen next year. I’m not sure anyone in their right mind would take it. Unless they are willing to accept they could be out of a job within the next 9 months again.

If Koeman wasn’t less than a year away from leading a promising Netherlands side to the Euros, I think he’d take it temporary or not. He had a poor to average time of it in the premier league so he’s never getting a job there again. Barca is his only hope for a job at a top club now.

According to ESPN, there will be no press conference today and everything will be communicated through club statements.

LMAO.

Id rather start the season without a manager than go for Pimienta. Amigos will walk all over him (If no one gets sold)
