We can finally get the Kounde backup who can kick him to the bench. A much needed one.

But he's very expensive.

He can play two positions.
is better than de jong
Free
we could use whatever cash we get for de jong to strengthen other positions instead of sinking into a replacement for him

20-40m to get FB, add to our striker/wingers budget.

The pros outweigh the 1 con, which would be his salary imo.

All depends on Fdj if he would leave.
If that mf stays then we fucked.

No way he signs at wages he turned down at München but he might be a shrewd request from Flick, his versatility to play RB and leadership qualities seems a smart fit for a young team of phenoms

I could see this to pressure on Frenkie as well to renew or be sold in a WC year

Yea the experience is something I brought up as well when I first said we should sign him.

As much as I love casado and bernal looks special, you need a few players in that 26-31 in Your squad and XI.

If we sign him which is very doubtful then I don't think it's Frenkie that's going to have his minutes taken away.
It's going to be Casado and Gavi. Especially if Bernal returns to a good level. Frenkie at this point might even renew for 2-3 more years. Flick want him to stay and the club are reportedly open to it.

The main rotation would then probably be Pedri, Kimmich, Frenkie and Bernal with Casado and Gavi getting the fodder minutes.

If we are gonna keep de jong then it wouldn't make sense to sign him.

Would only be a de jong replacement.

What could go wrong another Bayern amigo to solidify Bayerncaball, if we're lucky Bayern will take him back after a year a la Gundo. But let's be real Bayern's too astute to make the same mistakes of City's downfall this year.

Kimmich extends today according to German newspapers. Very good, so Flick doesn't get shitty ideas.

Don't think Flick cares at all tbh. He clearly trusts in Bernal, Casadó and FDJ, who is reportedly close to renewing.

World class performances at right back and in midfield this season

I like him. He plays like a SS soldier. Disciplined, precise, calm, cold

Sucks if he renewed, this guy for free would be good business

It would be unwise and financially imprudent to get a high profile player just to sub Kounde or hinder the growth of Cassado and Bernal, while paying a retirement salary too. It wont end well.
