Josko Gvardiol

Fofana, Gvardiol, Koulibaly, Silva,.... what a roster of CBs.

I mean...Kounde, Araujo, Christensen, Garcia...pretty much the same, if not even better. Not to mention ours are all 25 or younger, meanwhile Silva is most likely retiring next year, and Koulibaly also doesn't have more than 3-4 years on top level left, if that at all. And Fofana is still a big question mark, especially after that horrific injury, but as of now he's basically on Garcia level. While Kounde and Araujo are younger and already better than Silva and Koulibaly. The only case in their favour you could make is Gvardiol vs. Christensen, and he could also flop easily, especially if he'll have the rumoured price tag hanging over his head.

I am never happy when Gvardiol plays as a starter for Croatia.

I don't understand any price above 20m for him.

These prices are outrageous

Wouldn't be shocked if United/Chelsea will be in money trouble in few years when sugar daddies get bored of throwing money away.

Doubt it. Money in football are preposterous, but these guys are multi-billionaire, it's not make or break money for them. And even if Chelsea owners will pull the plug after 2-3 years, some other owners are so loaded that they can pour 2-3 billions and won't back down.

Italian clubs had same ideas over 2 decades ago and it backfired.
Also billionaire s usually made their money by being ruthless, not by being wasteful.
Currently it seems EPL will have the 70% rule, as UEFA planning to put it as new FFP (same as Liga and Lige 1) so I think it could slow down a bit.

Manu being desperate, and new owner of Chelsea getting embarrassed has made it crazy market tbh

Renewed until 2027. Apparently no release clause. But I wouldn't be so sure of that. Leipzig are known to renew highly wanted players in return for a release clause that kicks in a year or so later. Did it with Upamecano and Nkunku recently.

He would fit FC Barcelona philosophy like a glove. Unfortunately, although he adores Messi he is a big RM fan.
