To be fair to City, I think Alvarez ceiling at a top tier club is that of a rotation option. No shame in that and no one in the world is ever selecting him over Haaland. Not even his mum.
Would easily be starting for this Barcelona team right now and probably the foreseeable short term future though. But if Xavi were to stick him on the touchline as opposed to cutting In close to the forward, would he even benefit us?
Or would we be talking about yet enough wide player who is fast but not that fast, and can't really beat his man.
