If there's that many problems with the squad where almost every player is listed as having massive flaws, either all these flaws are true (and many of them are) and/or you look at who is the man controlling them, who is the man coaching them, devising tactics, not getting enough out of them. That man is Valverde.

Remember that a master Robert had a summer of 22 with Denis, Gomes, Digne, Paco, Umtiti, Semedo and later Dembele.

Been saying this for so long. We should get competent and professional guys as sporting directors. Im tired of these former players running our transfers. Abidal is a move by Barto to please the fans.

Of course these people made countless mistakes, and one of their biggest ones was hiring and keeping Valverde as a coach. So let's not forget that.
For "winger Coutinho" i don't think that was intended. They already bought Dembele to play on the wing so i think it's safe to say Coutinho originally was intended to take Iniestas spot. So him moving to LW is more on Valverde, and probably bad planning and communication as a whole because they absolutely should've known Valverde isn't the kind of coach to make Coutinho work as a CM here. Also paid waaaaay to much of course.
Yeah I agree that the board and sporting directors have been shitty too. I'd argue Digne, Paco, Umtiti and Semedo are playable (or rotatable) of the players you've listed there though. I don't think anybody can understand what happened with coutinho tbh, he started off really well and we all know what happened next. Was never worth the transfer fee paid but at the time was probably a good signing (if you don't think about the cost), I think he was a big help in winning the league that year too can't fully remember. Dembele is shit and I don't have any hopes he'll turn out good, really hope I have to eat humble pie and correct myself but just don't see it. Griezmann I'm yet to make my mind up. I think he should be given the chance to prove himself as the starting number 9 for a good month. If he performs well and it improves overall attacking play then great! If not then he's another wasted €100m+ because as you say he's not a winger.
Probably a bigger problem than players coming in has been the lack of getting rid of players. Busquets only really this year is being phased out, should have happened 2 years ago, same for pique, suarez.
That being said the squad is certainly still good enough to win the league and to play decent football. The game vs Leganes yesterday wasn't just awful it was no different from all season. Leganes have 6 points in 12 games prior to meeting us. It's so clear we have no attacking strategy at the moment, having to rely on two set pieces against leganes is embarrassing, I don't know if we actually created a proper goal scoring chance yesterday.
I think the board, the manager and some of the old guard need clearing out this summer. After all new and fresh ideas are healthy for any club, we've been playing the same way under valverde for 2 years now. Even pep got found out after 4 years and that was with revolutionary football, valverde's football is nothing new.

According to my FM 2020 Save, Firpo ends up becoming better than Jordi Alba.
He is much stronger physically, and while not being as quick as Alba off the line, he is no slouch. Just needs the confidence to get forward and like Semedo he will make the Left Wing his own

For a barca level Junior should be at most a bench player.
He is a good player nothing more than that, to actually replace Alba one of the best in his position we need someone else. otherwise we will feel the day he will leave like when Alves left !!! still today everyone who took his position is garbage compared to him
