Jules Kound? is only 24, but Bordeaux fans have already found "the new Kound?", as Junior Mwanga has become a big part of the team's mission to get promoted, a year after being relegated.

Fast, strong, very good on the ball, a lot of similarities between the two players. Mwanga might not be as strong in 1v1 as Kound? right now, and I think he isn't as fast (but I might be wrong), but he's probably better on the ball. As a matter of fact, he's actually starting as a DM right now for Bordeaux (due, in part, to the fact that most of our midfielders are utter trash, so why not play a very good CB there anyways?).

Sevilla already has an eye on him apparently. It is said that Monchi is really interested (which fuels the Kound? comparison even more). Doubt he'll leave this summer, and I think he'll stay at least one more season if we get promoted. Very promising young player. And as with many other Bordeaux academy players, he seems to be smart and collected (like Kound? and Tchouam?ni). Of course, he's only playing against Ligue 2 players right now (so it's not that easy to tell if he's really that good, or if it's only due to the opposition being bad), but he's the only young player in our team that I can really see going very far (many people have been fawning over Dilane Bakwa, a fast and gifted winger, but I don't see him having as high a ceiling as Mwanga).

Some highlights from his game against Paris FC a few months ago (I was in the stadium, and he was very impressive from the stands):

Another talented French CB, I'm shocked.

Well, not really. ;)

Any good under the radar potentially cheap DM in Ligue 1/2 who you think could have a big future? Not that I'd expect to move on for him but would like to add a few more names to keep an eye on.

Looks great.

It's Ligue 2 level, sadly Bordeaux (the only French club I sympathize) went through some hard times.

Next season Mwanga might catch the scout eyes with eventual promotion.

Tbh I don't follow Ligue 1 as much as as used to. I overall watch less football than before, and since Bordeaux is now in Ligue 2 I have less reasons to watch Ligue 1.

As for DM's in Ligue 2, I don't really think any of them would be good enough for Barca. But the few good young ones I can think of are these three (keep in mind that I don't watch their teams very often, so my opinion is mostly from the few games I've watched of them, coupled with opinions of a few friends of mine who are sports journalists or football data analysts):
- Mohamed Kaba, from Valenciennes. Absolute beast, athletically speaking. He was a starter all season last year, and he still is this season, at only 21. Gives me some strong Moussa Sissoko vibes everytime I see him play. Bunch of Ligue 1 sides are interested in him (it was already the case last season), aswell as some more exotic destinations.
- Rassoul Ndiaye, from Sochaux. Pure box to box, powerful yet with a decent first touch, out of the three he's probably the one I like the most as of now. But even him is still far from being good enough for a top team. He's only 21 though. Just like Kaba, he's already been targeted by several Ligue 1 sides. Pretty sure he'll join a Ligue 1 team this summer, since I don't really think Sochaux will manage to get promoted (they're not out of the race yet, far from it).
- Franck Kanout?, from Sochaux also. Not as good on the ball as Ndiaye, and he's older. He's having a pretty good season so far, but he's already 24, so I doubt he'll suddenly turn into a world class midfielder.

Bordeaux also have 2 young midfielders, Tom Lacoux (french) and Danylo Ignatenko (Ukrainian). I've seen them play way more often than the 3 players above, so I can confidently say that I absolutely don't see them becoming good enough for a top team. At best they could be squad players for a side like Rennes for example.

How good are Le Fee and Ouattara of Lorient? I was browsing whoscored and saw that they have very good stats this season. Days later saw rumors about their moves to Bournemouth.
