Great game by Strootman, assisting Totti for the 1-2 and finally slotting home the penalty with a very powerful shot for the 1-3. Hope he develops well, we can def use a great player like him in Rio...

Developing very well at AS Roma and also by far best player at Dutch NT together with Van Persie and Robben. They stick out way above the rest, although I have to say lens was very good also against Hungary (8-1).

And he keeps improving himself. In just a few months he has adapted to the new environment and he has already become one of Roma's main men. I think Totti said he was happy with Strootman in a recent interview and that says a lot.
He is still only 23 and he just looks so experienced. Although we have a shitty national team we might have a chance with players like Strootman, Rvp and Robben.

For him being a controlling/holding midfielder, he scores and assists a lot actually. Last season 56 games 10 goals 12 assists. This season 25 games 7 goals 6 assists. Very happy with his development, we are in big need of a new star in our NT squad. Van persie is getting older and starts to get more and more injuries, Robben is always very injury prone and passed 30, Sneijder and Vd Vaart aren't what they used to anymore and all the other players we have are talented, but very young.

Robben is 29, 30 later in the year, but yeah he's no spring chicken. Strootman is awesome, he'll be the face for a while, probably future captain?
