Hmm, if Newcastle wants to make it to the CL next season, you shouldnt get Huntelaar. He is ok for a 6-10 position.

Don't be silly. Have you even seen his numbers over the years?
He didn't really make it at Milan because Leonardo, for whatever imaginable reason, preferred Boriello and even Inzagi over him, and he wasn't big profile enough for Real, and still his numbers there were more than decent considering he never got any real stretches of games under his belt, and mostly featured as a sub. At Ajax and more recently, Schalke, he's been nothing short of outstanding. In my eyes he'd be perfect for a CL aspiring PL club.
He'll turn 29 soon though, so it's probably now or never.

Maybe in a 4-4-2 formation, but otherwise i don't think he is good enough.

that would be a terrible waste of money for a club like newcastle, as you said he'll be 29 soon, not worth it for a player like huntelaar, he's a goal poacher and nothing more, he's too limited as a player and doesn't have much pace either, thats why he didn't make it at milan or madrid, he hasn't done anything at international level either, carroll is much younger and has already been a big success at newcastle so they know what they'll be getting, newcastle are better off with ba, cisse, carroll.............

You are right, dont forget Schalke wanted to sell him after his horrible first season. Last season was his first good season in 5/6 years.

Not done anything at international level? Since when was 31 goals in 56 games nothing?
Aside from that, I was never arguing that Newcastle should buy him. I was purely arguing against him only being good enough for a midtable club.

I hate to say because I used to be a big fan of him but he is Inzaghi without being Inzaghi. His problem is that when he doesn't score he tries too hard to, or tries to be useful without having the necessary skills, plus a bit of a lack of mental strength. Other poachers like him have this x factor that when they aren't scoring, they default into this mode of being even less useful and hide in the shadows until defenders ignore them completely and strike when least expected.

Luis Fabiano, Inzaghi are both specialists at this. Leandro Dimao for instance is easily marked out, just like Klaas.

i agree he is 9 goals away from patrick kluiverts all time top score so i dont think he has failed at international level but generally yeah he is a slow striker but he can score the most times and i gotta say that in the euro he didnt got any good service or pass to do something

He'd probably score over 20 goals in the league alone if he got the chance. Please don't compare him to Carroll... Van Nistelrooy would be more appropriate
