Who knows how long Suarez will stay at the highest level. He'll turn 31 this season. Thats the age when it goes downhill for many. Van Persie, Eto'o, Diego Forlan and countless others all started the decline at that age and moved on to lower levels. Some started declining earlier, like Rooney and others. This idea that players will just keep on going at the highest level until 33 and beyond is just not realistic at all for the great majority of players.

I dont think 180m is insane for someone like Mbappe. They also got a truckload of money from Danilo and Morata. But we can only imagine what superstars from rich clubs will go for. Neymar for 222m is certainly not as great a price as people think it is with prices skyrocketing every year.

180m at twice the world record is fine for an 18 year kid who could just as easily have been on a 6 month purple patch than be the next Ronaldo but 220m isn't a great price for Neymar, one of the best players in the world not even in his prime.

180m is to much for an 18 year old. it just shows football is going crazy now a days with ridiculous transfer fee that clubs are demanding for their players when there are not even worth that much

180m euros isnt twice the world record. Higuain went for 90m euros. Mbappe would be twice as expensive as 29 year old Higuain who will probably start to decline soon. How much was Lukaku in total? 105m?
Its the same every year. People going on and on about how crazy and insane everything is. Wake up, its the reality we live in, and it aint going to change. 220m for Neymar and 180m for Mbappe, its clear that people who think we can get 3 world class players from rich clubs after offloading Neymar are not realistic. If Mbappe is 180m, then Ney for 220 is not that great of a price as Ney has a bigger market star status.

totally agree with this. the kid is 18 years old ffs, only just finished school and now he'll have 180m worth of pressure on him. if he went to a club like Dortmund and then moved on to Madrid it makes sense but to go straight from Monaco to Madrid.. we all know how the Bernabeu treat its players, even Cristiano gets booed

Yeah, me too. I don't really care about the Mbappe part, I'm more concerned about Dembele I like him more. Too bad we're gonna pay 100m for Coutinho instead of Dembele.
180m is definitely too much for an 18 year old with only a seasons worth of good performance. Theres no guarantee he can maintain that level especially at an age where being incosistent is expected. People will bring up the price for Morata and Lukakus but at least they had several seasons worth of consistent performances, especially Lukaku who has managed scored 20+ plus goals every season.
