Frankly, I couldn't care less if he's arrogant or not. Fans hate arrogant players unless they play for their favorite team. If you're arrogant and have the goods to back it up when it counts, it's even an advantage.

Whoever signs him gets a helluva player who can be much greater than the inconsistency he's shown at PSG. His ceiling is much higher than these 3-4 seasons PSG got out of him.

Has been world class from 18, but looks to be taking the next step this season. What many of us, including myself have been waiting for. Fair play to him if he can maintain this.

Surely Madrid bound though and not so sure that is such a terrible thing considering the current and potential future state of La Liga. The Prem has slowly been absorbing much the best and brightest of the football world, both among managers and players. EPL also has the advantage of having the global lingua franca as it's native language, better presentation, branding etc.

The average non-Spanish fan usually does not watch La Liga for the teams themselves, but to see certain exceptional players in action. Dinho, R9, Zidane, Xavi, Iniesta, Cristiano, Leo etc. A future Dembele vs. Asensio headlined Clasico would be terrible for the league.

Unless Mbappe changes his mind and signs an extension with PSG he should be off to Madrid this summer for somewhere between 120-180m. Next summer if Haaland knows what's good for him he will choose us. Doubt either player will ever reach Messi or Ronaldo levels, but there will nevertheless be lots of hype surrounding the rivalry.

Everybody and his mother know that his next club is gonna be RM or EPL club.

However, people still here fill page after page fantasizing about him being a Barca player

Sorry I'll head off to the Gini and Depay thread and fantasize about our impeding mediocrity instead

So, you'd love it if you lost out on Haaland to a PL-club?

No, I will not be happy if that happens,
but I am a committed realist and dislike fantasies that are not grounded firmly on reality.

And a realist assessment says Haaland is much more likely to play in the EPL rather than Barca for many reasons.
Laporta's election increased the probability of Haaland joining Barca, but it's still significantly less likely than him joining City.

Same or even worse for Mbape who loves Zidane and RM, if he ever decides to put a LaLiga team ahead of EPL

Delusional.

City have yet to make a marquee signing (CR7, Neymar level) under Pep.

Liverpool are back to their mid table ways. And United are Europa league perennials.

So let him go to Madrid. If we buy Haaland, with Messi, pedri,De Jong,we still are better off.I would still sell Griezmann and buy a proper wide player though...but who?
P.S..if indeed he goes to Real and we don't buy anyone really worthwile(not Depay or Gini),than that is pretty messed up.I have confidence in Laporta tho'.

For all the talk of the might PL, they currently have one serious club yet to show its strenght.

OF course always welcome vica versa if Mbappe decides to go to Barcelona. But such a situation I only fell like what happen if he knows Barcelona is interested which is rare as the club doesn't show outward interest in top stars in the last decade (exception to Neymar which was IIRC a two year bts project before his 2013 move)
