According to Cadena Ser and Cadena Cope (well-known Spanish radio stations) both Real Madrid and Atlético de Madrid will be sanctioned by FIFA for the same offenses that FC Barcelona were found guilty of last year.

RFEF have apparently already been informed by FIFA that those 2 clubs will be sanctioned.

Here are the links in Spanish.

This explains why RM have been so unusually active on the transfer market this early.

The squad could always be better, but i dont think this will a big problem for Real Madrid.

Up until its offical I won trust this rumour because its simply too good to be true...

Oh I think it would. They'll buy Verrati / Pogba in midfield, De Gea in the goal, maybe even more players and certainly that would make them much better.

No, because the RM board already knew what had happened with FCB when our board made a joke of themselves by not taking FIFA seriously. RM probably knew long ago that they would likely face the same sanctions hence why they have been this active on the transfer market.

When both Cadena Ser and Cadena Cope are reporting the same news simultaneously then be sure that there is a fire. This news is hardly breaking news either as rumors about a potential sanction emerged months ago. Given the ground realities then that would be only fair now when FIFA has sanctioned us for crimes that those 2 clubs have committed as well.

Anyway regardless of the sanction or not then both RM and Atlético are likely to be allowed to buy players this summer. Just like we were last summer after appealing the verdict.

Yeah, a few good transfers this summer, send Bale to United and we are set for a while. Not very worried over a possible transfer ban.

RM might be "set" for now but being unable to buy players for 2 transfer windows in a row (1 year) can never be a good thing.

At least the Spanish RM fans will shut up now for a while in regards to our FIFA sanction.

¡Gr?*cies Xavi!
It'll be difficult for them to get De Gea now. Man Utd can demand a crazy sum or tell them to get lost.

Real will appeal the ban and sign the players they want this summer.

Just like we did. :suarez:

Sure but then they will be prevented from buying players 2 transfer windows in a row. That's a negative thing no matter how you look at it. A lot of things can happen in football. If RM fail to win the league or CL this season and then proceed to perform badly next season then such a transfer ban could be a very bad thing for them. Let alone in terms of buying talented/upcoming players next summer.

Top clubs have to buy players each season in a ideal world.

It definitely is a problem, but it is not a disaster.

I agree with that notion. If FIFA had punished all 3 clubs at the same time, it could have been a bigger problem for RM.

What annoys me most with this whole FIFA saga is the fact that Rosell and our board basically did not take FIFA seriously or the rules. This sanction could/should have been avoided altogether.
