IMHO Madrid will drop points in 2 different games of the 9 remaining. Coming up, they will drop points in either Sevilla-away, Rayo-home, or Sociedad-away. Sevilla and Sociedad will be particularly difficult. Both Sevilla and Sociedad are competing for Europe and Sanchez-Pisjuan and Anoeta are tough stadiums to play.

Then IMO, they will also drop points towards the end in either Valencia-home or Celta-away. Valencia are a good team that is under-achieving, and Celta played Madrid really well at the Bernabeu.

It will be tight, with very little room for error, but if Barcelona can get their shit together and win out, I think Madrid will not go undefeated the remaining 9 games.

Altetico might be a more worrisome entity though.

We'll need Real to drop points and get above them in the standings. If we can keep in striking distance of Atlético, I have no doubt we'll beat them on the final match day. But as things stand, I still give Real the highest probability of winning the league. We've shown that we're too inconsistent and we need to win almost all of our remaining games. I just hope the win of yesterday was a turning point. Consistency is the key.

Technically, Barca don't need to go ahead of Madrid in the standing. If they end up tied in points, Barca own the first tiebreaker because they beat Madrid twice. They also currently own the tie breaker vs Altetico on goal difference.

Losing points against Rayo, home at the Bernabau? Are you serious?

I only mentioned Rayo, because it is the game sandwiched between the away games at Sevilla and Real Sociedad, so I just referenced the 3 game stretch. I would be extremely surprised if Madrid dropped points vs Rayo.

Great game, this one. Very open-ended with loads of chances in both ends. Entertaining!

Edit: Holy cow! Just as I write this, Almeria get their second penalty in 5 mins. 3-2 Almeria.

Almeria beats Sociedad 4-3 in an absolute screamer of a match. I wish I was able to watch el clasico like this. Just being able to enjoy the show without all the enevitable rage, blood, sweat and tears.
