Maybe so, but only in open space I fear. Benz was top level under Mourinho in those conditions in 11/12. They're not nearly as good at finding room against deep blocks.

Yep. Benzema lacks that burst speed that Ronaldo used so well to get away from markers in short distances. He had that whip move in the box that would allow him to free himself even in crowded space. But Benzema could get at the end of more passes considering Ronaldo took a huge portion of the team's service. And his overall game is one of the best from all strikers. I would trade Suarez for Benzema if you ask me.

If you're talking about goalscoring production, then Benzema was top level when Ancelotti & Benitez were in charge at RM.

Pretty sure there was a season where him, Higuain and Ronaldo all connected to score some ridiculous number of goals in all competitions. Like 100-120 or whatever. That was where he was at his best. He was absolutely top notch when we played the full on counter game.

Yeah, checked it. 118 goals in 11/12 from all three with Ronaldo providing 60. Only 13 short of peak MSN.
