It's pretty incredible that after all these fuck-ups we're still 1st. Seems like there is no team well ahead of the others. Everyone is inconsistent.

It is but Real had Bilbao away/Sevilla away/Atleti... I think if they’d have had our fixtures they wouldn’t have dropped points.

We are tied on points but looking deeper we are actually behind because RM dropped points against quality teams unlike us.

Don't know what's worse, somehow staying top of the league for some time which won't lead to EV being sacked or not staying on top and sacking EV

Yeah the fact we’re still top is working in his favour... not that we would sack him anyway board is too pathetic. For the first time ever I was thinking yesterday I wouldn’t mind losing to Bilbao and Spurs midweek to get rid of Valverde... that’s how bad it is.

Didn't Navas say he would rather die than leave lol

He probs won’t leave, why would he? In his mind he’s overachieved in his career, hugely at that. He managed to get the peak period in his career in the best club in the world. Has contract till 2020 and will be given options to do extensions and play cups or go. He will quite likely feature heavily in cups this year. We’re doing the Bravo-MAtS or Diego Lopez-Cadillacs style deal.

It's not incredible. Madrid had tough fixtures where they were likely to drop points anyway

Says a lot about the state of things when Betis after 7 games, having played dreadfully but bravely scraping 1-0's in the first few fixtures are now 5th with 5 goals scored, 5 goals conceded and are 2 points behind the leaders.

Looks like more points lost. Too much walking off the ball. Possession is useless without effort.

I still dont understand why Benzema gets to play game after game, when he really plays more like a midfielder than a striker, can be get Mariano on who at least run in space? At least, why cant we play 4-4-2, so Benzema can do his playmaking with another striker there?

The only fitting logic behind it is that the manager wants the first team to get back into scoring form while out there instead of being subbed by less-skilled players in order to save the result. Asensio is only off because he played probably 5 or 6 games in a row now so needs some rest even though he was utter wank since the Spain performance. Ancelotti employed this, Zidane did it quite a lot... To tell the truth, I don't think Mariano is some inspiration that would put the team on his back, he's more of an impact sub when things are going well. We sorely need someone like Isco to be the gamechanger. Hence why people cry about us not getting Hazard.
