Emery was great For Seville and Villarreal seem to be his level.
That being said, it has been 4 years since he left Liga (and success)

Granada qualified for Europe for the first time in their history. Even more impressive considering they have the 3rd lowest wage budget (37m) in the league behind only Mallorca and Valladolid. In comparision, Villarreal's budget at the start of the season was 113m and Sociedad's 85m. Big credit to Diego Martinez for a job he's done in the last two years first by promoting them and then having a great first season back in La Liga. He should get La Liga manager of the year award imo.
Will be interesting to see how they'll do next year when their season will start earlier because of European qualifiers (though probably not as early in comparison to "normal" seasons). Espanyol struggled this year for that reason and well, they also lost their best striker, defender and coach. So I think as long as Granada can keep a core of the team together (it's more or less decided Carlos Fernandez will return to Sevilla from his loan spell and stay there so they'll need to replace him), bring some good reinforcements and Martinez will stay they shouldn't go down the same road as Espanyol. But you never know. Smaller teams with limited or no European experience and lacking squad depth have struggled before in these kind of situations.

I know. Don't think he would be a bad choice for Villarreal but I just don't know if it's the best decision to replace Calleja who seems to finally got the team on the right track after the restart of the season. I do think Emery is a better coach than him though and with some smart signings they should challenge Sevilla for a top 4 next year year. On the othe hand they are a selling club and it's inevitable they'll lose at least one if not two important players. Pau Torres is as good as gone and Chukwueze (he didn't really improve as much as expected this season though so he might stay for one more season after all) could leave as well. Cazorla is also going to Qatar so they'll need to replace him.

By your logic Dembele is not a flop then. He had bad season statistically and not playing. Simple as that.
He was a flop... hazard Himself said it was the worst season of his career. Not a flop..

Flop, disappointment.. you're not really saying anything, just throwing around arbitrary terms that mean different things to different people. Dembele is nothing like Hazard, other than injuries, which is a dumb focus point to compare by.
Can't ever rate a player if they're not playing.
What Hazard meant is he's disappointed with his season, which is understandable. Doesn't mean he could have done much more, beyond not turning up fat at the start of it. Did quite well in October-November. He's being hard on himself on purpose, because he sets the output bar high. What we all know is he had a difficult year without continuity and new teammates. Extrapolating the numbers he's on 15 assists for a season, which isn't bad at all, it's only goals that suffer.
Would do well to ever be as good or better than at Chelsea TBH. Hope he doesn't delude himself and put too much pressure on to produce. 10-10 this season was going to be good enough by most standards, 10-15 is probably what he should aim for. So he's done at least half the job this season.

Sounds like a lot of excuses and him showing up super overweight after off-season was a big red flag already. Those injuries are probably related to his injuries too. Same as Dembele, both flops. Dembele wouldn't be flop if he played.
Dembele was critized exactly for the same reasons. Not committed, not working out etc. And then the injuries came. Same as Hazard. How does that not make him a flop? Hah.
People give shit to Dembeel and tell he is shit blabla. Hazard was the same. Do I expect him to repeat this season? No, but it was very bad season and he should be on this failed lineup for sure. Especially if Griezmann is who still contributed to Barca way more than Hazard.

Look at what happened to him this season and think about the expectations for him: is he a flop? Yes he is. A big one. We never expected him to do this bad and behave this badly too.

Lots and lots of healthy players who disappoint. Moot point.
Cases are nothing alike. Absolutely nothing.
Even on those basic criteria - nobody ever doubted Hazard's commitment and nobody does now. He was working out absolutely without issues all season when fit. Getting fat was his 2 month period of treating himself after getting a career defining move. Which is not advisable, but not a big deal and most players get back in shape by November. He couldn't because he was hurt.
Yeah... not too sure why you would. Or why anyone would get this idea in their heads that Hazard would seamlessly go from Chelsea to Madrid and be the same or better.
10-10 season would have been good.
He was on pace for 15 assists and was still the most fouled player in the side that has 2 dribblers max, both under the age of 21.
He's done half the job while getting the shit kicked out of him since November. Pretty good. I'm sure he wants more though, which is normal.
