Whilst Madrid and Barcelona declined, Atletico built a team with insane depth. Jesus christ what the fuck is that squad sheet? This period will be his only chance to rack up a solid reputation as an all time great coach, imo.

I still won't rate him, though. His teams play like shit, struggle to score, and basically clutched the title against one of the worst Barcelona and Madrid teams in two decades. If this current Barcelona can still match up against Atletico's squad, then honestly I just don't fucking rate Simeone. The team would be much more of a monster with the Klopps, Tuchels, Peps, and Fergies of football.

His football is absolutely horrid, but it gets the job done, brought atletico from a bit of a meme club being at the table with the Giants of Europe, playing like this is probably the only way he could have done it, doesn't seem like he leaving anytime soon either.

I haven't changed my opinion. Only reason he won last year is because we were both (Madrid and Barcelona) really shit. Even at our worst, it still took Simeone till the last few match days to seal the title. Also lucky to have a sugar daddy to finance the insane depth of his squad.

Also lucky to have a dumb rival in Barcelona to literally gift away a striker to Atletico. Literally all we have to do is keep Suarez and Atletico still loses the title to the worst Madrid and Barcelona teams in 2 decades.

It's hard to rate him at that point, really.
