They havent fleshed out squad at all and have let important players leave whilst not replacing them.

In addition to that core of their team is getting older and older and still relying on them.
But, certain people here will tell you they have a better squad... 39 year old Modric, Joselu, Valverde, Fran Garcia, Kepa, just too much to beat really.
