How are we golden in the standings? Potentially -2 vs Madrid when we beat them means 5 more lost points than Madrid vs rest of the field with them having a tougher schedule. That's not golden. It shows a problem vs smaller teams that should be addressed urgently. Leagues are won not as much in the big games but most importantly in matches vs weaker sides. Madrid won 1 out of 6 points vs their top 2 rivals but could still lead the table.

You can better $10,000 that Madrid may struggle against Las Palmas at home, but they for sure won't lose

They struggled against celta and got the win.

They are the games that matter in the league.

They manage to find ways to win.

We seem incapable of doing the same if two out of Raphinha, Lamine and Olmo are unavailable. Which is quite worrying because one is injury prone in general while the other is still 17 years old and need to be managed carefully so we don't ruin him.

We need to learn how to grind out a win.
Real. Bro It Hurts Knowing That’s What We Used To Do In The Xavi Years, Now It’s Like We Forgot How To Do It. The Celta Game Was A Close One, But Np I Guess It Takes Time And We Will Be There.

Madrid won 3 of the easiest matches they could possibly get and bottled all the serious opponents. Pathetic against us, dominated by Milan and dogwalked by Liverpool.

Osasuna on away grounds is ass, Leganes is probably the worst team in the league and Getafe is 17th on the table and knows wrestling better than football.

Now, Madrid has 3 consecutive away games against relatively strong opponents (Bilbao, Rayo, Girona). No Vinicius, no Camavinga, Mbappe is still terrible and they have no proper fullbacks.

There are reasons to be optimistic. More so in Barca than in Madrid.

That's nothing new. Our only fault we lost points we shouldn't have and bring refs into situation when they can even more actively help the Evil Empire though.

Daily reminder what are we up against year after year.
Out of interest I looked up the statistics over the last 10 seasons in penalties received between both clubs over the entire season:
This season so far: Madrid +3
23/24: Barca +2
22/23: Madrid +10
21/22: Madrid +5
20:21: Barca +5
19/20: Madrid +5
18/19: both same
17/18: Madrid +5
16/17: Barca +1
15/16: Barca +10
14/15: Madrid +6
----------------------
In total, Madrid received 16 penalties more in 10 seasons. So on average they get 1.6 penalty more per season in the last decade. Both teams had one year with 10 penalties more reveived than the other. So they favor Madrid a bit, but it's not outrageous.

Maybe I look up later how many penalties both teams received against them, or someone else can.
