ESPN pundits got embarrassed badly.
I am surprised there has been no litigation against them. They are clearly HEAVILY biased towards RM so much that it's getting embarrassing. They will always highlight the mistakes that RM made rather than the amazing things Barca did. It's very shitty because that's the only national broadcast here in the States. I wish bein still did la liga or even the UCL crew who is very unbiased.

Amazing, just amazing.. Destroying Bayern and Real Madrid in a few days apart, Hansi Flick is the best signing Barcelona made in the last 10 years.. Of course there is still room for improvment but this is the Barcelona I want, after a long time I'm actually enjoying watching Barcelona.. Keep it going lads..

Not playing with the ball first half was the game plan.

Pena said in his presser that the team was taking it easy during the first half to reserve energy and avoid fatigue.
The Bayern game maybe took a toll on the players, and they wanted to go all out for just a half.

called it during the chat. Said tempo was deliberately low first half and Flick was cooking something. siu

The funniest thing ever is all these pundits think beating the offside trap Barca is using is easy. Barca has 75 offsides forced. Next is Brighton at 35. Obviously not that easy.

"All you have to do is start your run from 5 yards further back"

As if Mbappe and Vini JR have no idea how to break a high line in their 10 yrs combined of high level football. Mainly as counter attack players.

Also these pundits severely underestimate how smart Cubarsi and Inigo are as a duo. Some of those offsides were works of art reading the game.

"why do Barca run this suicidal line" Because the problem with Barca usually is that once the defending team has a set defense it's hard as hell to score. Ask Xavi about that. Instead Flick basically has 7+ players camped in the opponents half even while out of possession. They force the ball over the top. It gets intercepted or is offsides. Barca can then quick counter before the opponents can setup their defense. How many goals have we scored from quick counters? A lot.

I wonder what Xavi's thinking...don't get me wrong, I do like Xavi but it must be a puzzle for him...given the same players, why he couldn't figure it out himself, must be on his mind. Not only the wins but the amount of goals...

If you see closely. A lot of things we are doing was started during Xavi.
This high line, Xavi had it, he didnt drill it down and Kounde was not able to maintain it last season, but Xavi did implement it.

Xavi really should have been a 2nd Coach to big teams first, like most top managers. He would have been so much better. He needed some time to learn.

Xavi was too focused on Pep that's my opinion

Xavi had the midfield all wrong. Pedri/Gavi was up as false 9 and no one was in the middle of the park. It was in infuriating seeing the world's best midfielder unable to convey how to setup a midfield as manager.

Flick has the double pivot with the AMC just infront depending on the space available. Which sometimes switches to a traditional mid 3 depending on the opponents positions with the CBs forming 3 central DMCs.

And this is without getting into attacking patterns, utlilising the centreforwards and training intensity that guys who had been up under top managers like Lewy complained about.

Still, it's first half of the season, and all this means nothing if we fall off come March. It's better to end good then start good.
