Elite Bayern calmly flew out of non-elite Villarreal. And after 8:2, they barely won 1:0 in the Champions League. Barca's problem is style mania at any cost, the quality of players is not enough for this style against top clubs. Real Madrid calmly parks the bus and does not worry. Add calendar density and trauma.

And your argument is? Of course we want to build a team that can attack and dominate games. And of course surprise results can happen such as Bayern going out to Villareal.

That is Barca indeed. We want to play nice football and only when we get great at it can we win against the best. It's how the club works for decades.

We will build a great side again in the future, it is a near certainty. The problem some people can't accept is that it will take time, since football goes in cycles and our cycle right now is not good and the money are low.

No.. what people cant accept is the coaching in these games and spending money on players they dont seem to understand what kind of players they have.

'Suprise results'.... Barca losing to Frankfurt and not winning the EL was a huge failure with the best team in that tournament. It then impacts seeding in CL and toigher group. Can Barca only be on the receiving side of 'surprise results' and never take points off of Bayern when multiple teams in Germany have this season and Villareal put them out last years.

Bayern drew the three league games before Barca and lost the one after it... they were out of form and could see that in how they played v Barca despite going on to win 2-0

It will be harder than ever to build a great side when club have given so much to Xavi at expense of the futire when argument was have to be competitive now and can never have a rebuilding phase.

There is constant mental gymnastics to try and argue in favour of Xavi not failing to this point.
