Yes, the semi-automatic VAR failed completely in this situation. It merged both bodies, attached Lewy's arm to Aguerd, merged both feet and gave Lewy a 70 shoe size.
I really hope they will fix this going into the future and that the refs should get the notice, it can fail.
That said, I understand VAR's ref's fear to go against the system, because Madrid would have screamed and cried the whole international break that Barca started to buy refs again to overturn automatic systems. It's just the image Perez's media successfully planted in Spain.

To the game: What hurt the most for me is, that Alguacil won with the stupidest tactic possible. He planned to play this game with 16 players from the start. He instructed 4 players to give every bit of strength and power for 60 minutes and then he'll sub them all. It's such a pathetic tactic to try and run more than you opponent, because it limits you exremly. You can't react anymore on what happens on the pitch, because you have to sub these 4 players who barely stand after 60 minutes, no matter what happens on the field.
I've never seen a 4-sub in minute 60 when leading 1-0 before. So he had only one sub left to react tactically, on cards or on injuries for more than 30 minutes while leading!
You'd expect such a childish tactic from some amateur teams and sadly it worked against us. Partly also because our subs were all worse than the players on the field, so they brought us nothing.
Factually our 11 players played against 16 players. Maybe 12, because Olmo did some decent things. But Fati, Pau and Gavi gave us absolutely nothing. Then you can lose a game at the Anoeta obviously, especially if such fuck up happens with the VAR.
