The left flank looks so crowded wtf, stretch out the play to dests side too

Dest is basically alone there. The shape is fucked up because the guy who is supposed to be playing on the right follows the ball around.

The only way it's worth playing on Dest side is when the other team's defenders forget about him and leave him all alone in space .

The team is shapeless, because every second pass must go to Mess for some reason. It makes for a lot of displaced passes and bad chemistry without any coherent formation. Players seem confused. I can't see playing like that work out despite of rare moments of magic like that assist.

Tough to take too much from the 1st half. Huesca have been hopeless.

Messi should make more use of Dest on the right side. Left has been crowded.

For this to work, Messi must have a ban on following the ball outside his zone on build-up. Meaning that if the ball is played on the left, Messi must wait on the right even if not played, keeping position and shape. The problem is no way does this version of Messi accepts that much time of no action on the ball. He'll lose patience in like 30 seconds and will go fishing for the ball knowing everyone gives him the ball all the time.

Huesca look like they have never played professional football before. I've seen relegation teams, but this is one of the poorest teams I've seen in La Liga, ever I think. They barely know what to do with the ball.

And we are playing really poorly against them. It's unreal how slow our passing is. Pass sideways---2,3,4 touches---pass sideways---look for Messi.

Madrid would be destroying them with runs down both flanks, cross field balls and quick passing. And this Madrid team is POOR. Which is why I was saying at the start of the season when people were putting Barca and Madrid in the same bucket. Madrid are poor in the normal sense - teams go through lows. We are somewhat...special.

Absolutely! Remember those glorious one-twos with Dani Alves? Why does Messi ignore the right full back? Our team is completely lopsided a la Valverde.

Seriously, CowMan should drop Messi and play Dembele on the right instead.

Remember Dani Alves saying he used to play wide pass down the line even if Pep hated it just so Messi can touch the ball? Even then Messi had issues of poor discipline off the ball and needed constant action to stay involved. Now multiply that by a lot and you get a player that can't let 1 minute without him being on the ball running things.

And the only way to be on the ball all the time is to follow the ball around with a "free" role.

Also, I'm a huge Dembele fan.

He's also scored v Juventus, AM, Chelsea, Bayern and put RM on roller skates in the CL.

But screwed that golden pass from Messi in 2nd leg VS Liverpool which would have us qualified.
When it matters, he screw up. Or is just not there.
Top player indeed :dembele:

Yesterday Madrid struck once in the first half in 45 minutes and scored one goal without destroying anyone with crosses. Madrid put the bus on.
