I can't believe we are debating about the player whose name can't be spelled properly by half of the forum members.

Forward players of Barca in 20/21 so far. Ratio of npGoal/npXGoals (shows conversion rate) in all competitions in descending order [Source]:
1. Dembele: npG=4, npXG=2.1, conversion ratio= 1.90
2. Fati: npG=5, npXG=2.7, conversion ratio= 1.85
3. Braithwate:npG=5, npXG=5.1, conversion ratio= 0.98
4. Coutinho: npG=3, npXG=4.3, conversion ratio= 0.72
5. Griezman: npG=5, npXG=7.3, conversion ratio= 0.68
6. Messi: npG=5, npXG=9.4, conversion ratio= 0.53
Braithwaite is willing to do the shit job. Make runs. Press. Very ungrateful job. He is just supposed to occupy the villain defenseman with his movement. He creates space for others.
He knows it. He is doing exactly what he is asked. Nobody is expecting him to be prime Suarez or Cavani.
The guy cost whatever sub level player should cost. We have WAY bigger problems than him in our squad.
How about corpses of Pjanic and Busi? Overpaid underachievers like Coutinho and Griezmann. These all four are much bigger problem to us. Braithwaite is what he is. Max. Okay to good sub for Barca, yet people keep bitching about him.
Basically I am laughing at people bashing Braith for his finishing. Ok, you can criticize other aspects of quality missing (like passing, link-up play etc), but your bias is evident when you say he can't finish.
Look what the numbers say thus far this season:
He converts better than all of Cou, Griez, Messi, and around as much as expected (close to 1).
So, yeah, this guy cannot finish ...
As for the rest, it's what Serghei says above.
He was brought for a squad role. The fact that he is starting is a consequence of lack of funds to transfer someone in
No he is not making clever runs to open things up and cant do any basics a striker should be doing.
It is grasping to make out he is providing some role off the ball that goes unnoticed.
Those other four no one tries to argue have been better than they have been and all four are much better players than him even old man Busi.
What is nPG?
If you don't notice during the games how he is helping us by pressing, defending not sure what I can say. You don't see any positives, only negatives.
non penalty goals
He has 4 not 5 this season does he not?
right. My bad.
4 out of 5.1 np xG, somewhere around 0.78
Still, better finishing than the other 3 thus far
Well yes if he is a striker in a team creating more chances than just about any other team in europe and best can find himself is 4 tap ins then depends if you think that is a positive or a negative.
If he was regularly finding them fair enough but he isnt and it appears about only way he can score.
Wouldnt put that up there as him being a good finisher or better than any of the others he clearly isnt and has shown it his whole career.
Didn't say he is an elite finisher.
Just said he finished better than the other 3 this season.
And the npxG he has is lower than both Griez and Messi.
So, if you wanna blame someone for missing chances it will have to be those two
He has been worse than all of them in the league for finishing his chance and one of the two he scored was a terrible miss that jumped back up and hit into empty net as well.
Where are you getting the figures from?
His penalty miss counts so those stats shouldnt discount them.
His goals for expected goals is in the league is about the worst in team as far as can see.
