Props to Osasuna for starting all home players but Barca were not bad either in that department with 12 Catalan/Spanish ones featuring.

No sign of international virus that often plagued our returning matches.
And besides the goals, some great actions from our team.
Great result + great football and seeing so many home players. Vintage Barca. :barcaflag:

What a terrific game. SO entertaining. That's the best energy I've seen from the team the entire season. The ball always moving. Every player making great pivots to evade their markers and advance the ball. Brilliant pressing and ball recovery. Great wall passing movement, runs seen and runs fed, key passes. Zero diving, every player trying to stay on their feet and continue playing. Just great.

I always thought FdJ was a dull player and an offense killer with his oblivious, self-absorbed, and plodding play, but Flick has taught him how to be a real player. This was one of his best games ever. He's now releasing the ball quickly, good awareness of his teammates, no longer playing superfluous 1v1 keep-aways while his teammates stand by waiting for him to look up. FdJ 2.0, Flick-model, is finally worthy of playing Barca ball.

Osasuna will present an appeal to challenge the match against Barcelona last Thursday at the Montjuïc stadium. As AS has been able to know and the club has made official, the Navarre entity understands that the Barcelona team incurred improper alignment due to the presence of Iñigo Martínez on the lawn and thus present the case before the Competition Committee.

Osasuna refers to a FIFA regulation according to which if a player is injured, he cannot play again until at least five days after the last meeting of that team in that international window.

I was just going to post this (well I guess I just did...).

Anyways the only thing I can say about this, after all the talk of the fixture date and LaLiga putting this date not to adulterate the competition if it was played between MD37/38, is this.

Never change Spain. Don't be surprised if someone in LaLiga or RFEF is behind the tipoff btw.

Osasuna might have a legal case here...

IS there ANYBODY in this fuckn circus checking these things over?

I don't think it has legs.

There will be an excemption argued because of the change of fixture date. A matter which Barcelona and Osasuna already argued by not wanting the game slotted in close to international fixtures. So if there is anyone in error, it is an administration from LaLiga which completely validates both clubs initial concerns and objections with having the game here and not MD37/38.

Secondly, how the fuck are you ineligible when you are hooked from the national team prior to the first game even being played, and for a player replaced before a ball is even kicked for the first game?

In fact Inigo Martinez was replaced BEFORE even joining the team for a training camp. So he wasn't even a part of the squad and should be counted as withdrawm.

Basically this is a bogus statute attempted to be exploited outside of the context of application of it's creation, probably tipped by someone inside the LaLiga office with shit on their hands,

It makes perfect sense what you say about being replaced prior to first kick off.
But, unfortunately, law many times does not work according to common sense

If the letter of the law says what Osasuna is claiming, and we did declare Inigo injured, the stated clause will apply.

Our only hope is to press the issue of the date of the game that was forced to us by LL, so in that way making it impossible to complete the 5-day period after the last INT game.

It will only count if it was Julian Alvarez.
