Don't get me wrong. He's good on the ball.

But he's like a player who'd have thrived in the last decade.

Football is moving more towards a more physical, tactical system based game this decade.


The early trends look worrying for players with his qualities. This would explain him looking much less of a world beater in Europe.

To be fair, Balde stepped it up when he got the chance during the summer to fight for a spot on the first team.

For the B team he all right and the game time he got for the first team prior to Xavi he clearly wasn't ready for the first team yet. The potential was there but he was still not ready yet a year ago.
