Lautaro Martinez

Point is: We need a natural, proven goalscorer. Lautaro right now is not. He might develop into one, but we don't have time for that.

I wouldn't say we don't have time for that. We'll need to do a rebuild sooner or later so we'll have time to find a goalscorer for a future team. A bigger problem for me is spending 100m on someone who is not a natural scorer and who I highly doubt will ever become one.

I think we have too many players that we are developing right now or on track to developing. Would be an overkill to get a such striker too imo.

And yes the price itself is a big problem too.

This guy is nothing but an Argentine Lacazette. It would be madness to buy him. We could easily play Griezmann in the middle and even if he is mediocre there he would still end the season with more goals than this guy.

Barto and AbiGOAT only make sensible decisions when they dont have any money. Refusing to pay 20+ Mil for Eric Garcia and not going for Loltauro anymore.

Wolves signed Raul Jimenez last year for 30 mil I think. Proven player and he delivers like the milkman. Now that was a smart signing

Not a bad suggestion at all. Very consistent performer, scores and can link play. I would imagine he would cost upward of 70 million even if we could get Wolves to agree to negotiate.

I like Jimenez but he was far from a proven player before he went to Wolves. And there is still no guarantee he'll make it at a bigger club even after his successfull two seasons at Wolves.

He didn't make it in his only season in Atletico (I don't count that against him though as he was just coming to Europe and it's usually difficult for young offensive players to immediately stand out in Cholo's system) and has scored in average 6 goals/season in his three years at Benfica. He's a late bloomer and is playing in a team/system that fits him perfectly but there was a reason why no big club was interested in him when Benfica was willing to offload him for cheap. Which they would never do if he'd be their key player at that time.

Atletico play their own weird special brand of football. Like you said, not ideally suited for players with flair. Even Joao's been having a tough time. Leipzig or Ajax would've been perfect for him.

As for the mexican wolf, he seems at home with his new pack. Manu and Juventus have made bids for him but he doesn't wanna leave and he's a fan favorite. His contract runs till 2023...

I really like his style. He's so fluid and plays with great vision.

Lukaku > Lautaro.

How many people here want to buy a striker that can not score 30 goals+ and think that can take team like Barca to higher level?
