Because he's young and has some decent numbers in Serie A plus the market for good #9's has been starving the last few years, everyone wants to discover the next big thing and any young dude who can score goals gets mad hype and a huge price tag, not a surprise most of them end up flopping.

Lautaro is decent but unless something crazy changes he most likely is going to spend his career as a second man for actual elite-world class strikers like he is doing with Lukaku at Inter, doubt he will ever make it as a lone striker in a top-big team.
