Lautaro Martinez

A rare Barto win?
Yes. He would have been a bad fit while Messi was here. His best position is behind the striker as he does for Inter now. Reason he has also been used sparingly by Scaloni anytime Messi was with national team.

Would have been another Greizman, at the price Inter was quoting then.

To be fair I only watched Kane in high profile games and he's usually an absolute non-factor there, eg for England. In theory he has everything, but for some reason can't get his horsepower on the street so to speak.

I think he has also declined, a few years ago he looked quicker in some situations. But Lewy was definitely better than him at Bayern even though Kane was a good replacement.

What are you talking about?

Lautaro was Messi's striker partner from 2019-2022. Lautaro was initially the main striker in the WC22, but he was injured at the time which made him lose his place to Alvarez and that has been the case ever since.

Even fall 2024, Scaloni has been playing a front three of Alvarez, Lautaro and Messi together. If both Lautaro and Messi weren't injured during the March 2025 window, they would have started vs Uruguay and vs Brazil.
