Ah lol.

Absolutely agree on the hardworking thing. Credit where it is due. I know he still goes clubbing and that, but of course that doesn't mean he's drinking there.

He doesn't drink at all, his father was an alcoholic.

lol, ronaldo is good but he aint as good as messi......its not a gulf of difference but the difference is clear. not to mention madrid fits his style of play and messi fits our style so there is no excuse to what team he is on. messi is clearly a better team player and the gives him a considerable edge

Cristiano Ronaldo said that when he was born, the Football God told him that he was placed on this Earth to be best footballer on the planet. When asked about this statement, Lionel Messi said, "I don't recall making such a comment."

last page is nauseating. Makes sense looking at the posters.

How? You whine about how we're all Messi fanboys, and then the second we start giving Ronaldo his due credit, you refer to it as nauseating? We commented on how hard Ronaldo has worked to get to where he is, the fact that he will be around for a very long time, and is alot better than most people on this forum give him credit for purely out of hatred.

What the fuck more do you want us to say? Ronaldo is better than Messi? He's not. Or would you rather we all just acted like Messi fanboys, and just said, "HAHAHAHAHA CRON, what a whiney little bitch boy, he doesnt even deserve to be in top 10 Messi sooooooooooo much better". Then it would be nauseating.

Ronaldo isnt an average dribbler, it's just the fact that at Barca we appreciate more subtle ways of playing than Ronaldo's in your face trickery. I agree with the fact that Messi is miles better, but your being a little harsh on Ronaldo's general abilities. Ronaldo is also very good technically, he's got better striking ability than Messi from long range anyway. He just tries it too much instead of picking out a pass because he's a greedy fucktard.

maybe he used to but every time i see him play these days his shots just bounce on the floor to the keeper....

messi on the other hand is getting better i think

Everything you say is right but certain people on this board seem to downplay the rest of the team because they are so in love with Messi. I can't blame them because the kid is fucking irresistible but it's a chicken/egg effect where Messi takes this team to another level and can bail us out by himself but wouldn't be anywhere near this dangerous on any other team, and it's hard to tell where one ends and the other begins.

On the other hand any "underachievement" for Argentina can be credited to a dysfunctional mess with selfish, corrupt pieces of shit on all levels from Grondona to Maradona to Riquelme. All the greats had elite support from Pele to Cruyff to Ronaldo (the real one), only Maradona was able to win on every level as judge, jury and executor and even then he was always given a rough and tumble defense to protect him.

But Messi is not at that level by any means yet and I think as of right now Messi is more dependant on this team than the other way around. Disagree with me all you want but to me Xavi is still this teams MVP. Messi might individually win more games but Xavi defines a system, Spain winning the world cup to me is telling where the balance in power still lies.

But Messi is only 23 so there's no excuse for him to stagnate. He got the goal scoring and passing down but there's no reason he can't learn new tricks.

Xavi may personify Barca and define the style with which we play and dominate, and he is still the MVP of the team (lord knows I love Xavi more than anyone), but what Messi gives us is a phenomenal quality that, frankly, he would show in any team in the World. you really sell him short when you say he "wouldn't be anywhere near as dangerous on any other team" that's just not true. he wouldn't be THIS dangerous and destructive, no, but he'd be damn close.

as long as there was some semblance of organisation, his ridiculous adaptability would just make it work. I mean look at how he's changed from being one of three potent weapons (el trident) for our midfield to use, to the major reference of our attack in the final third - so much so that the world's best Striker is basically his wingman. there's no reason to suspect he won't take up an even greater creative role when Xavi calls it a day. and there's also no reason to downplay his abilities just because some peons on the internet think he's the be-all and end-all of F.C. Barcelona.

It's ridiculus really, i think i should stop watching messi play. He makes my level of expectation go up so much more. When i watch other players miss a shot i always just think messi woulda nailed that. He just makes it look SOOO easy. He even makes villa, one of the worlds best strikers, finishing look not as good. There have been games where villa gets several tries and fails to put it away (not discrediting villa of course i know he's awesome) then i see messi take the same shot and makes it look like theres no effort involved.

Messi is better, no doubt. Im not trying to offend any Cristiano fanboys. Xavi is a genius, Iniesta is an artist, Cristiano is as complete as a player gets, Villa is clinical, Tevez/Pedro are hard workers, Ibra is powerful, Eto'o is fast, Ronaldinho is still magic, Higuain is all about positioning, el fenomeno Ronaldo was unpredictable.. but somehow Messi seems to have it all.

Messi is definitely better..Yes Messi is dependent on the team but its also the other way around..If messi's not on this team who'll be scoring those incredible goals, Villa, Pedro..? i think not..Villa is good, clinical yes but he misses way too many chances..Messi is dangerous especially on the counter..He croes in tight spaces...Imagine if it was henry, villa, pedro, or ibra, villa, pedro as our forward dat played madrid, it wouldn't have caused damage..Madrid has one of the best attacks in the world, but really what makes ours better is because of the presence of Messi..He is all dat!!! He's better than Ronaldo by a distance as far as i'm concerned

good lord Irv... seriously man, kindergarten level that stuff.

Jordzibob, you guys just need to stop the "it's no contest", "Messi is 10 times better", "they are not in the same league", etc. It's absurd.
