Cristiano never scored a freekick hattrick. Its pretty rare and only a handfull pf players (at best) ever did it.

Hahah fair play. I looked it up and Cristiano did score 3 freekick braces so far in his career. Amazing for a guy so bad at it.

A set piece hat trick has only occurred twice in the history of the Premier League. More should be being made of what Leo did yesterday. It's like even the crowd there yesterday was like ' yeah it's just another Messi free kick'.

After the second one there were a lot of juninho comparisons.
I was watching it in a bar and everyone laughed cause he did it again.
Im honestly more nervous when he is taking a penalty than a freekick at this point.
At this rate he will be among the best freekick takers ever. Right up there with the likes of Zico,Maradona, Dinho, Koeman and maybe even beat Juninho’s tally.
Nothing to celebrate about a Penaldo though. A hat trick of free kicks, yes

CR was a magnificent free-kick taker in the early days of his career. Only since 2013 or 2014 did he really turn into shite at them. In fact he was so good at them in early part of his career he still has more total free-kick goals than Messi to this day despite Leo dominating in this area as of late and Cristiano falling off a cliff.
Messi has 52 free-kick goals in his carer whereas Ronaldo has 53.
It is an inevitability Leo will pass him at this point, but the difference was much larger even two years ago.
In 2017:
CR7 - 51 free-kick goals
Messi- 34 free-kick goals
Therefore, the sum in the two previous seasons shows Messi's free-kick dominance as off lately: 2 goals (CR7) - 18 goals (Leo).
Yes, Messi did not take all that many the free-kicks in the early part of his career, but the Ronaldo slander does not make sense.
