Lionel Messi - v7

So if he stays , how much wage cut he needs to take? I don't know if we can offer him more then 30M

Doubt he stays but if he does Laporta might need to get creative and give him a 300/400m contract over 10 years with role at club when retires and even the right to go on loan for a year etc.

There isnt any way the club can give him what is on at moment.

You are adding the bonus to the maximum he can get again.

Including bonuses and winning everything the most he gets for a season is 138m.

Ok, but knowing Messi, his maximum was 138, but a fixed amount was probably at least 100m, right?
There is no way that Messi plays for less even if don't win anything.

And then I guess that majority of bonuses are easy to achieve, like in Dembele's and Cou's transfer, where we needed to qualify for a CL and similar.

Ok, there is winning a CL bonus, but also there are bonuses for playing more than 60% of matches where in his case even 45 minutes counts as a match played.

So, I am just guessing, but out of 138m, he will get probably 110-120-125m this season with a fixed base + easily achieved silly bonuses.

So, let's say 115 or 120m plus 66m loyalty bonus for leaving us = 181 or 186m to be paid this season.

So, even if spend "only" 180-185m for Messi this season, that is still around Halaand's price.

The most expensive transfers in a history were Neymar 220, Mbappe 180, Cou 165, Dembele 145, Felix 130, Griezz 120, Cr7 120, Hazard 115.

So, literally, we have lost Halaand/Felix or Salah just for keeping Messi for 1 year.

Was it worth it?
Hell no.

A guy needed 80 shots in the first part of a season to score 1 goal from an open play.

Now imagine some election's candidates who want to keep Messi in the next season.

120m this season and 120m in the next plus 66m for leaving is =306m for 2 seasons.

That is almost Halaand + Felix.

Would you guys rather have BOTH Halaand and Felix or a 35 years old Messi?

No again you are adding the 'loyalty bonus' on top of the figures produced when it is included in the maximum of 555 over 4 years at 138m a year.

Heard you before on 'Messi is shit and Braithwaite is best attacker' dont need to go through that one again.

Oh, I see, you think that 66m loyalty bonuses is included in 138m per year?

Fine.
Then I think that even without La liga, Cl and BDOr he is getting 120-130m per year.

Iirc, in 2015, players earned something like 1,5-2 additional millions for winning a CL.

So, I would estimate that Messi could get 2-3-4 m for each of a CL, La liga and Ballon D Or.

That still means around 125-130m for these two years.
So, let's say 250-260m.
Or only 125-130 for this season.

Messi's wages this season + Trincao = Halaand.
Messi's wages for 2 seasons + Trincao = Halaand + Felix

What two seasons? Changing the argument to try and fit the narrative?

Half the loyalty bonus is paid and if the signing bonus has been paid in full also can take that off the figure.

Shitty logic anyway unless think Haaland etc play for free and completely ignores any income Messi generates.

Financially speaking does it make sense for him to stay?

remove all emotion from the decision.

depends on what terms. otherwise, it wouldn't be that bad if we keep him. there aren't players on the market that would fill the void left by messi leaving.

we would probably go bonkers and throw money at some star player in order to save face. look at real and what happened after ronaldo left. the likes of Wolfe told us how great a deal it was and that the moment was right for them to sell(even if you could say it was). they got 100m and blew it on hazard, while still struggling for goals with the likes of vinicius and benzema.

haaland or mbappe don't play the same position and we need a striker anyway.

Needs to reduce his salary if he is to stay. He must understand that while he's still one of the best players in the world, he's not an alien to the same extent as before.

I have no preference whether he stays or leaves. Both fine by me. I just hope he communicates it soon enough (post election after talkign with Laporta/Font?) and not like freaking Neymar.

I would offer him a 1 year deal with the option of another year, with a 15 mil net wage. The club is in a bad financial situation, if he cares about money, then good luck in Manchester or Paris.
